What is Beef Quality Assurance (BQA)?

BQA is a national program that provides guidelines for beef cattle production. The program raises consumer confidence through offering proper management techniques and a commitment to quality in every segment of the beef industry. Over 19,000 Tennessee Beef Producers have been certified through the BQA Program since the year 2000!  There are currently 378 BQA certified producers in White County.

How to become BQA certified?

BQA certification has transitioned to a 3-year cycle. All producers that complete the certification exam and sign the BQA Personal Contract from June 15, 2020 until December 31, 2020 will receive a November 1, 2023 expiration date.

The pricing guidelines are:

  • Non-members of the Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association will be charged $40 for their 3-year BQA certification
  • Members of the Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association will be charged $20 for their 3-year BQA certification
